reasons to quit

I read on a website that to prepare yourself to quit smoking weed is to list the benefits. So here are mine. I must say, I was rather surprised but the list went on and on and startlingly I have still not even taken the first step :0

  1. I’ll get fitter.
  2. I’ll be able to breathe
  3. Gain self respect
  4. I might not die young and upset my family
  5. No more ashtray smell
  6. I can buy nice things
  7. I will be more motivated
  8. Be less lazy
  9. Have more quality time
  10. Do more exercise
  11. Drink more water
  12. Detox
  13. No grey skin and wrinkles
  14. Have more credibility among peers and strangers
  15. Be more thoughtful
  16. Be more relaxed
  17. Stop going around in circles = make progress
  18. Won’t draw negative attention in public
  19. I’ll have less anxiety and paranoia
  20. I’ll change
  21. I’ll be a better role model
  22. I will show commitment
  23. Take better care of myself
  24. Keep my teeth nice
  25. Save money and spend it on shared pursuits

There, that’s loads ain’t it! So why no change!?

  3. Are all these reasons in fat motivation enough for you to quit? I mean, most of it are values that our society thinks highly of, but do you in fact agree with it? As a fellow smoker, I know how you feel, but I haven’t really found my core motivation to stop quit. Why should I care if everybody else thinks I’m a bad role model who doesn’t show commitment etc. etc. We all live life for ourselves and once we find something that makes us happy, why change it into something that makes other people happy? Does material things even make you happy?
And some of the things are in fact possible for you to do while smoking. Exercise is possible, though motivation for it is a bit harder, but is it ever easy to start working out? And water. Ever considered drinking water with your spliff? I always get so fucking thirsty while smoking, and I can easily drink a couple of liters every day, You should try that. Water tastes a lot better when high.

I understand why you would like to cut down, even quit, but before you find something truly motivational, I think it will be a never ending struggle.

    • All these reasons do not motivate me, no! I do love exercise and in fact I chose power walking because it enables me to puff and exercise at the same time. As for the water, I really should drink more anyway. My main reason for wanting to quit is the financial aspect; in these tough times my hourly rate has reduced and so I’m working double time for the same money and then I give it all to my dealer! That I resent. Deep down I really don’t want to quit, I love being stoned. This week however, starting tomorrow (lol) I will try not to smoke until Thursday and then I will score a little bit for the weekend on Friday! Your blog makes me laugh, I found you replying to somebody else’s blog and clicked on you. Very funny, keep writing! x

    Thanks for the compliment.
Exercising and puffing at the same time actually sounds like something I would do. Hmm. Maybe you should try growing your own weed? It’s actually really easy.
