Unsolicited Chocolate

I must admit that I do scoff a lot of chocolate – this week I was into Mars and Twix. For the last few weeks I’ve been eating Green & Blacks Crispy Milk and Kit-Kat Chunkies. I am of the opinion that I can eat whatever I like to maintain my ideal weight, as long as I walk at least 10,000 steps a day and for the last few years this has proven true. Although I do not make a habit of weighing myself, I am feeling heavier this week because on top of my chosen quota, I have been gifted two big bars; Cadburys Mint Bubbly and Cadburys Chocolate Popcorn (new!). It was only with kind intents that these came my way but it has thrown me out of balance – coupled with the fact that I have not walked to capacity, I am feeling like a big fat pig – oink.

** FRIENDS MAKE YOU FAT**

In the interests of breathing

I haven’t walked for a couple of days, mainly through apathy and misty fine rain that is not too pleasant (because it makes my spliff soggy). During the day I realise that I spend large periods holding my breath – suddenly I’ll take a deep breath and think, ‘Ah, that’s better, I’d forgotten to breathe.’ By the evening, noise and chaos abounding around me, it is always a relief to roll my SFW (Spliff For Walk, i.e. a strong one), put on my iPod, pop on my shoes on and walk out of the door, taking my first breath for what could be hours. Once I’ve done a couple of blocks my head clears of all the bollocks of the day. There are so many benefits to exercising outdoors – I can’t stand gyms – I’m sure that walking outside keeps you healthy all year round because you’re out in the elements and not being holed up in some sweat-box with stinky people spreading their germs. Autumn is not great for walking because not only are there slippery leaves; you never know what’s lurking beneath.
